1. If buying rate is more than selling rate then at what price the transaction(if any) takes place ?
Selling Rate. Transaction will take place at minimum rate. [Top]
2. Can I delete pending quotes ?
No. Quote once applied can't be deleted. Remember : Unwanted quotes can be harmful. [Top]
3. How is my rank decided ?
Your rank is decided by cash in hand plus portfolio (i.e. shares you have). [Top]
4. There is no option in drop down menu of sell shares ?
Only those shares which you own are shown there. [Top]
5. In Market Watch, maximum buying rate and selling rate is same, still transaction is not taking. Why ?
This is because buyer is not having enough money at the moment. However, be assured that trading will continue to take place with 2nd best quote for buying available. [Top]
6. If I want to purchase/sell more shares than available in sell/purchase quotes, can I apply ?
Yes. You can apply till you have enough balance. After processing the best quote available, 2nd (if any)
will be processed else your quote will be stored for future trading. [Top]

4. What should a stock market index be? A stock market index should capture the behaviour of the overall equity market. Movements of the index should represent the returns obtained by "typical" portfolios in the country.
5. What do the ups and downs of an index mean? They reflect the changing expectations of the stock market about future dividends of India's corporate sector. When the index goes up, it is because the stock market thinks that the prospective dividends in the future will be better than previously thought. When prospects of dividends in the future become pessimistic, the index drops. The ideal index gives us instant-to-instant readings about how the stock market perceives the future of India's corporate sector.
6. What is Dematerialisation of shares? Conversion of physical share certificates into electronic shares is known as Dematerialisation of shares. To have your shares dematerialised, shares should have been transferred in your name/joint names before you send these for dematerialising.
7. Do I get any benefits if I sell my shares in the Demat form? To start with, your broker will offer you lower brokerage, as he is certain that there will be no bad delivery of certificates. This also means, your certificates will not come back with objections, minimising the cost & time involved in the transaction.
8. Can I hold shares of one company, in both physical and Demat form? Yes, it is possible for you to Demat only a part of your holdings.
9. What is DRF? DRF stands for Demat Request Form. This is the form you have to fill in and submit, along with your physical certificates, when you wish to have your physical certificates dematerialised.

12. What is the difference between a shareholder and a stakeholder? Shareholders are stakeholders in a corporation, but stakeholders are not always shareholders. A shareholder owns part of a company through stock ownership, while a stakeholder is interested in the performance of a company for reasons other than just stock appreciation.
